FAQ
Is window tint legal in Ontario?
Yes – we ensure our installation complies fully with local regulations.
Windshield: Ontario allows a sun visor strip on the top 75 mm (3 inches) of the windshield – often referred to as an "eyebrow" tint.
Front Side Windows (Driver & Passenger): Must allow at least 70% Visible Light Transmission (VLT). This means you can still enjoy a stylish, UV-protective tint on your front windows — up to 30% darkness, while staying compliant with Ontario laws.
Rear Side Windows & Rear Windshield: No legal VLT limit in Ontario. You can apply dark or limo tints for privacy and heat rejection.
How long does the tinting process take?
Most installations take 1–2 hours. We ensures zero dust bubbles and a perfect finish the first time.
What’s the difference between ceramic and carbon window tint – and why do you only offer ceramic?
At TintGuard, we’ve chosen to specialize in ceramic tinting because we believe our clients deserve the highest standard — not just in looks, but in protection, comfort, and durability. Every installation is performed by certified professional to guarantee a flawless result.
Ceramic Tint (What We Use)
Top-tier heat rejection: blocks up to 95% of infrared (IR) heat, keeping your cabin significantly cooler.
99%+ UV protection: shields skin, eyes, and prevents interior fading.
Crystal-clear visibility: even at darker shades, you enjoy superior optical clarity and driving safety.
Non-fading and long-lasting: ceramic films are color-stable, scratch-resistant, and backed by lifetime warranties.
Carbon Tint (Not Offered)
Entry-level option, offers moderate heat rejection, mainly for appearance and glare reduction. It lacks the advanced infrared blocking and optical clarity of ceramic. Prone to fading, bubbling, and reduced performance over time.

FAQ
What exactly is paint protection film (PPF), and how does it work?
PPF is a transparent film applied to your vehicle’s painted surfaces. It forms a durable, invisible shield that protects your car from rock chips, scratches, road salt, bird droppings, and UV damage.
At TintGuard, we use advanced self-healing films from 3M™, SunTek™, and Verleno™—scratches and swirl marks vanish with heat, keeping your vehicle’s finish looking brand new for years.
How long does PPF last?
Our premium-grade PPF comes with a manufacturer-backed 10-year warranty. With proper care, it can last even longer. Unlike lower-quality films, ours resist yellowing, cracking, or peeling—ensuring long-term clarity and paint protection.
Will PPF change the look of my car?
No, unless you want it to. We offer ultra-clear gloss films for invisible protection. The film enhances the finish while keeping the paint beneath pristine.
Can you apply PPF on just certain parts of my car?
Absolutely. We offer a variety of popular coverage packages - high-impact points & full car, as well as customizable options:
Partial Front-end:1/3 Hood + 1/3 Fenders
Partial Front:1/3 Hood + 1/3 Fenders+ Bumper
Full Front:Full Front Bumper, Headlights, Side Mirrors, Full Hood, Full Fenders
Full Body Wrap:for ultimate protection
All patterns are precisely cut and edge-wrapped for a seamless, factory-level finish.
What’s the difference between ceramic coating and PPF?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that enhances shine and makes your paint hydrophobic, but it won’t stop rock chips or deep scratches. PPF is a physical barrier that provides impact protection, especially on high-risk areas.
How long does a PPF installation take?
Depending on the coverage, installation typically takes between 1 to 3 days. For full front wraps or full body installations, we take the time needed to ensure a dust-free, precision-fitted finish.
Is PPF easy to maintain?
Yes. PPF is very low maintenance. Just wash your car as usual using pH-neutral soap. We recommend avoiding automated brush car washes and suggest hand-washing or touchless methods.
Will removing PPF damage my original paint?
No. When installed and removed professionally, PPF will not damage factory paint. In fact, it preserves the paint underneath, helping retain resale value and reduce wear over time.

FAQ
What is vinyl wrap?
Vinyl wrap is a thin layer of premium adhesive film applied to the exterior of a vehicle, changing its color or finish without a permanent change.
In fact, the wrap even preserves the paint, providing a layer of protection against minor scratches, UV rays and Ontario's harsh winters. Years later, you can remove the wrap to reveal perfect OEM paint underneath.
Why wrap and not paint?
Paint is permanent and more expensive, while a vinyl wrap gives the car a new look and feel without damaging the original paint, perfect for leased vehicles or those planning to resell.
How long does a vinyl wrap last?
A wrap will generally last 3-5 years. With proper care, a car wrap can last up to 7 or 8 years. Our trained and certified installers understand proper cleaning and preparation as well as installation technique, all play vital roles in a vehicle wrap lasting for the long haul. Other factors affecting longevity include the environment it is in, and the maintenance adhered to by the vehicle owner.
Can vinyl wraps be removed?
Yes, vinyl wraps can be removed without damaging the original paint if done correctly.
Can I wash my car after getting a vinyl wrap?
Yes, but it’s recommended to wait at least 48 hours after installation and avoid high-pressure washes.
How do I maintain a vinyl wrap?
Regular wash with mild soap, soft cloth and water, avoiding abrasive cleaners. Keeping it parked in shaded areas also helps to prolong its lifespan.
